Estimates
How the price gets written
We post example prices by the foot, because a gutter is measured that way. A roof isn't a product, so it gets a visit first.
What decides the price
Twelve things move the number. Each one shows up as a line on the written estimate.
Feet of gutter, run by run
Material, gauge and size
Corners, downspouts and height
The board behind the gutter
What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't
A line that isn't written down isn't in the price.
Includes: gutters, downspouts, corners and hangers
Includes: old gutters hauled away and cleanup
Not included: rotted board found later, priced per foot on the estimate
Not included: leaf guards, unless they're listed
Not included: repairs inside the house from old leaks
What happens at the visit
Blia or Luc walks the house, measures the eaves and looks at the boards behind the gutter. On a roof job we go up and look in the attic too. We don't charge for the visit, and the written estimate holds for 30 days.
Nights and Sundays
Our hours are on this site. A gutter can wait for morning. A visit outside working hours costs more, and we tell you the amount before we come.
When you get the number
In writing, after the visit, with every line priced. If bad boards turn up once the old gutters come down, the per-foot price on the estimate is what you pay.
A sample estimate
One farmhouse and a machine shed, line by line
A one-story house and an outbuilding, seamless aluminum. On your estimate each line carries its own amount.
Seamless aluminum, 190 feet
Five-inch gutter on the house and the shed, six downspouts, old gutters hauled away.
- Gutter, 190 feet
- Downspouts, 60 feet
- Corners, 6
- Fascia board replaced, 12 feet
- Hangers, end caps and sealant
- Old gutters taken down and hauled away
Example only. More soft board found when the old gutters come down is billed per foot at the price written on your estimate.
